Do you realise . . . ?

. . . How long ago the Chernobyl disaster was?

I didn't either. At least, not until reminded by Mark Turner:

Post Two: Have a freebie!

In #1 I mentioned business planning.

It's amazing the amount of business advice that's available if you want to pay for it.

If you can accept slightly 'second hand' info, then much of it can be had for free.

Here's somewhere to start:

http://myss.sitesell.com/

'Make Your Site Sell' A set of e-books which run to hundreds of pages.

Quite honestly, I couldn't believe how much information MYSS contains!

There's so much in there, it's difficult to take it all in - let alone try to use it. But it does give some great advice.

Like most great advice, it's often ridiculously simple. Not that means most people figure it out for themselves . . .

Perhaps the key point that crops up through and through, is:

What's in it for the purchaser?

It doesn't matter how good the product is - unless someone sees a real benefit for them, they won't get out their credit card.

(Actually, the key point the books want you to keep in mind is your 'MWR' - Most Wanted Response - and build your product web site to that aim.)

So download yourself a freeebie, and put it to work.

Post One . . . a brave new lunch break

Welcome to The Ride info

Another blog hits the net, so best not waste too much of your time!

The blog has a purpose; you won't be getting the trivia of my life (well, not often), instead I'll be charting the start of a brave new business.

You'll find out:

What the business is, how it's growing, how it can help its customers;
How to grow a business and help customers.

You may have noticed the overlap there!

It's intentional, I've spent a lot of time over the last few months reading up on making a business work, so as well as giving information on what it's all about, I'll be charting how I've put the various ideas in to practice - and saving other business start-up owners from the same long process by pointing them straight to the sources, or by short-cutting the process even more and explaining what's worked and what's not.

There will now be a short interlude between blog creation and business launch - so back then with more information.
